Hey folks! :)

This was originally posted by Stanzi, as Mario Classroom Blast. Here is a link to that http://frosttree.ca/HamaJETs/?q=node/707

I edited it to have some differing aesthetics and some different rewards but fundamentally its the same thing. It was a bit of a b-last, so thought I'd post it anyways. Its a good powerpoint game to have anyways, for all those review purposes and the suchlike.

Its pretty self-explanatory if you play around with the powerpoint. Essentially, play in lunch groups, roll dice or just choose a group to go first, go around the room clockwise having teams choose a question and a prize if they get it right. If the team does not answer their chosen question within an allotted time (I gave 30 seconds) then another team may make an attempt. First hand up gets to answer. If all teams can't answer then this question is forever lost and we may never know the secrets of the universe.

The questions in this version are based on the materials in lessons 1 - 3 in New Crown 3. This was used as a review before their tests but I didn't want it to be so impossible as to irreversibly crush their morale and prevent them from winning those battles they'll be fighting. So anyway, you can change the questions to whatever you like, of course.

When using the powerpoint, try not to use the arrow keys and use the cursor instead. The blue boxes are the question screen and the yellow boxes the prize screen. The questions are simply asked and answer revealed upon a click, however the prizes range from 1 - 10000 points and its all random. There are also some 'items' they may use in this madman free-for-all we will be engaging in. I will list these now:

1) Ninja: take/steal the illusive golden points another team is hoarding.
2) Present: be the benevolent heroes and gift your points to another team facing hard times. (Its up to you if you want this to be partial points or all points)
3) Multiply: your points have multiplied by a factor of 10! Rejoice at this miracle!
4) Bomb: should've been more careful bub... your team loses all your points.
5) Missile: its time to attack, make them pay for their insolence. Make a team's points go to zero!
6) Battle: its time to prove your worth! Will you take what is yours by force or fall down to those stronger... students pick a team and janken with them. Win, they swap points. Lose, nothing happens.
7) Smash!: take cover! The end times have come... all teams points go down to zero.

There we go, some fun quirks to make the game all the more unpredictable and wild.

I did personally have some issues with the sound and TV, being that neither would work. Could be that everything works fine for you but I'll note my circumstances in case you do have the problems I had. The sound basically didn't work so thats how it is. The TV wouldn't fully cooperate on a wireless connection, so I had to make sure I was on a wired connection and that I set to have the TV screen mirror my laptop. It was still a bit funky at times but it worked out.

The last slide contains a wee victory screen but I forgot to hyperlink it so if you'd like to make use of it and can't skip to that slide for whatever reason then best to add a hyperlink to it.

Thats about it, so good luck out there!

:)

Oh and I kept points on the blackboard, wrote the 'item' they had in their part of the points table and make sure to change the Dan related stuff!
